4K seamless loops

4K VJ loops for Resolume, VDMX and TouchDesigner

These are the loops I render for my own channel, sold as source files. 3840x2160 MP4s, cut at the loop point, and they run in Resolume, VDMX, Modul8, MadMapper and TouchDesigner. Below is how to get them into your software, then what the licence covers.

Info & FAQs

What these are, how to use them, and what the licence lets you do.

What format do I get for Resolume or other VJ software?

The download is an H.264 MP4 video loop, not a ready-made Resolume composition or TouchDesigner project. Check each product’s full specification for its frame rate, duration and file size.

DXV, HAP, WebM and transparent-alpha versions are not included. For Resolume, you can convert the MP4 to DXV using Resolume Alley. Conversion creates a separate file; it does not add an alpha channel or extra detail to the original artwork.

Playback performance depends on your hardware, decoder, resolution and number of layers. Test the file in your chosen software before a show. A format conversion can help a particular workflow, but it is not a guarantee that multiple 4K layers will run smoothly.

What the files are

The loops are 3840×2160, rendered at 4K in Cinema 4D and Redshift. Not upscaled, and not a 1080p master stretched. Real renders, not stock footage and not AI. Each loop’s page states its own resolution, frame rate and length.

They are seamless because they are cut at the loop point, not cross-faded at the ends. Put one on repeat and there is no join to find. Seamless here is a property of the file, not a tag I added.

Frame rates vary by piece – 24, 30, 50 and 60 all exist in the library. The frames are 16:9, so an ultrawide wall will letterbox or crop.

How should I choose loops for live visuals?

This page lists individual loops, with the busiest footage first. Use the collection, tone and pace filters to narrow the selection, then watch the preview and check the actual frame rate and loop length. The price displayed on each product page is the current price for that loop.

The standard licence covers use inside a VJ set, music video, installation or other finished work. It does not allow resale of the source file or uploading the loop as a standalone video. Read the Loop Licence for the complete terms.

I made these for my own channel first, so you can watch the footage run before you spend anything. It is the same work, sold as source loops.

Will these play in Resolume as they are, or do I have to convert them first?

They play as they are - Resolume reads MP4/H.264 and the loops drop straight into a deck. For a live show I would still convert to DXV, because H.264 decodes on the CPU and 4K layers stack up fast. Resolume Alley does it free: drag the folder in, choose DXV, and the converted clips land next to the originals. It batches, so the whole pack goes through in one pass.

How do I get them into HAP for VDMX, Modul8 or MadMapper?

ffmpeg -i loop.mp4 -c:v hap -format hap_q out.mov - run that over the folder and the set is converted. On macOS, Vidvox’s AV Batch Exporter does the same without the command line. MadMapper and Modul8 will open the MP4, but HAP is the practical path once you are running more than one layer.

Are the loops beat-synced, and how many beats is each one?

No. They are not cut to bars - lengths run from a few seconds to a few minutes. Resolume can still lock them to tempo: set the clip’s transport to BPM Sync and enter a length in beats, and it stretches to your master BPM. The longer loops take that better than short ones, as there is less obvious repetition to fight.

What happens if I mix a 24fps loop and a 60fps loop in the same composition?

Resolume plays everything at the composition’s frame rate and resamples the rest, so nothing breaks. Set the composition to match your output. The 24fps pieces read a little more filmic than the 60fps ones - that is the footage, not a fault. Each loop’s page states its frame rate, so you can check before building a cue around it.

Do the loops have an alpha channel, and will 16:9 hold up on a wide LED wall?

No alpha. The files are MP4/H.264 only - no WebM, no ProRes 4444, nothing with transparency. If you want one over other content, add and screen blend modes are the usual route. And 3840x2160 is 16:9: on a 5760x1080 wall it will letterbox or crop, so it is worth checking before load-in.

Do I have to buy it again for another venue or another client?

The licence is one payment, non-exclusive, and commercial use is allowed - the loop goes inside your own work, including work you are paid for. There is no cap on how many people buy the same loop; it is not exclusive to you. For the exact wording on venues, clients and events, read the licence before you quote a job on it, and email me if your case is not covered there.

Can I post a recording of my set, and will I get a Content ID claim?

Your set is your work and the loop is an element inside it - a recap reel, a livestream archive or a club’s promo clip is the loop used inside something. The line is whether the loop is the video. A full-screen, unedited stretch of one of my loops posted on its own is not covered, and neither is anything ambient, screensaver or “N hours of”. On claims: the licence forbids you from registering these loops with Content ID or any other rights-management system. If your case sits on the line, email me and I will answer it.
