Privacy

What this site collects, why, and who else sees it. I have kept it to what is actually true here rather than covering things this site does not do.

If you just look around

Page views are counted by Koko Analytics, which runs on this server rather than someone else’s. It sets no cookies, records no IP addresses and builds no profile. I see how many people read a page, and nothing about who they are.

I also use Microsoft Clarity to see where the site is confusing or hard to use. It creates heatmaps and session replays from interaction data such as clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, the page you visit and device information. Content typed into forms and other sensitive content is masked by default. I use this information to find problems and improve the site.

If you use the contact form

Your name, email, subject and message are stored on this site and emailed to me. They stay until I clear them out. I use them to reply to you and nothing else.

If you buy a class

Your card details never touch this site. Payment happens on Stripe’s own checkout page. Stripe tells this site your email address, your name, and what you bought — never card numbers.

From that, the site stores an account with your email address and a list of which classes you own. That is the whole record.

Sign-in links are stored as a one-way hash, not as the link itself, so someone reading the database cannot sign in as you.

Who else is involved

• Stripe — takes the payment and holds the transaction record. Their privacy policy governs that.
• Cloudflare — hosts and delivers the class videos.
• Pressable — hosts the site itself.
• Google Workspace — carries email sent to and from don@visualdon.uk.
• Google Analytics — counts visits so I know which pages are worth keeping. It sees the page you are on, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you use. It never sees your name or email.
• Microsoft Clarity — provides heatmaps and session replays so I can understand how the site is used and fix problems. It processes page, device and interaction data using first- and third-party cookies and similar technologies. Microsoft explains how it handles that data in its Privacy Statement.

Nobody buys this data from me, because I do not sell it, and there is no advertising network on this site.

What you can ask for

You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email don@visualdon.uk. Deleting your account removes your access to any classes you bought, so I will check you mean it first.

Cookies

The WordPress login cookie, once you sign in, which is what keeps you signed in. Google Analytics sets two of its own to tell one visit from the next; they carry a random number and nothing about who you are. Microsoft Clarity may set first- and third-party cookies, including _clck and _clsk, to connect page views into a session and create aggregated analytics and session replays. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect how the site works.
